Leather and time: the art of saddlery
Quality leather, hand stitching and careful maintenance: what makes a saddle or a bridle last for decades.

Saddlery is one of the oldest crafts linked to the horse. A well-made piece protects the animal, gives the rider security and can last for generations.
The right leather
Vegetable-tanned leather is valued for its firmness and for the way it ages, gaining color and shine with use.
Hand stitching
In traditional saddle stitching, two needles pass through the same hole in opposite directions. If one stitch breaks, the others stay firm.
A good saddle is made for the horse before it is made for the rider.
Cleaning, conditioning and storing leather properly extends its life. And the fit of the saddle to the horse’s back should be checked regularly by a professional.
