How to build your equestrian library
Organize by subject, balance technique and literature, and look after your books: a simple guide to getting started.

A good equestrian library does not need to be large. It needs to be chosen with intention and consulted often.
Balance the subjects
Combine works on behavior, care and health with history, art and literature. Technique explains the how; literature helps you feel the why.
Look after your books
Keep books away from humidity and direct sunlight, standing upright and not packed too tightly on the shelf. Older editions deserve special care.
A well-chosen shelf is worth more than many full ones.
Over time, note your impressions in the margins or in a notebook: your library will start to tell your own story with horses, too.
