Photographing horses with your phone: simple tips
Soft light, the camera at the right height and plenty of patience make better photos than any equipment.

You do not need a professional camera to take good portraits of horses. A phone will do, with a little care.
Find the right light
Early morning and late afternoon offer softer, warmer light. Avoid the harsh midday sun.
Mind the perspective
Shooting too close with a wide-angle lens distorts the head. Step back a little and use a moderate zoom.
Safety and patience
Ask someone to hold the horse, never stand behind it, and wait for the moment its ears are forward.
